Educational Help, Inc. Releases The Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment Of Reading Difficulties Module

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AMHERST, MASSACHUSETTS - Educational Help, Inc. releases the Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment Of Reading Difficulties. This software program is available for home or school use. It is a 40 minute computer-based test for identifying dyslexia and other causes of reading difficulties. The test is available in three versions - Elementary School reader, Middle School reader, and High School/Adult reader. The assessment consists of eight computer-based diagnostic tests plus a questionnaire on the academic, medical, and family history of the reader being tested. The eight tests are:

  • Simple Response
  • Letter Naming
  • Word Naming
  • Non-word Naming
  • Sentence Understanding
  • Word Meaning
  • Listening Comprehension
  • Reading Comprehension

The assessment test measures accuracy of response, but also measures how quickly a correct response is given. Measuring timeliness of response makes this test unique in its ability to identify which skills have been mastered and which still need development.

Immediately following completion of the test a 7 to 9 page report is generated. This Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment Report identifies a wide range of reading disorders, identifies where the reading process is breaking down, and recommends an intervention strategy to improve reading skills.

The Assessment Report can be used in establishing a student's Individualized Educational Plan, or can be used by a parent in working with the school in establishing the special needs of the student.

A free screening version of the assessment test is available for download online at www.ReadingSuccessLab.com.

The Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment Of Reading Difficulties is based on the Cognitive Aptitude Assessment Software developed for educational institutions in conducting assessments. Institutions using the software include Harvard University, Queensland University, Northwestern University, John Hopkins University, and several school districts. The software was developed in conjunction with and is the core reading diagnostic and intervention tool for the Laboratory For Assessment And Training Of Academic Skills, University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Educational Help, Inc. was formed in 2002 to develop and market the software for the researcher, educator, parent, and home school markets. The primary use is the assessment of reading and math skills, and intervention programs to develop those skills using Skill Builder software modules.
